Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Report w/1 record/page repeated 3 times on 1 page

How do I create a report with only one record per page, but repeated 3 times on that page?

The project I'm working on is to create a check-writing utility for my boss.

I've successfully created the form for inputting the check's data, but I can't figure out how to create the report to only have one record per page.

I also can't seem to find out how to make the report to repeat the same record 3 times on that one page (once for the check, and twice for the two stubs).

What's the best way to accomplish this?

Most likely you would be better off with a "label" layout instead of a report. Aside from being able to control the page size more easily, you can specify the quantities of each "label" to be printed.
    There can be only one.

I failed to mention that the layout of each stub is not the same... the layout on the top two stubs will include a memo field for the boss to write a description, and also the invoiced date and number.

The last (third) stub will be the actual check, and will not have these annotations.

I assume that the report is the only way to achieve this? I'm a newbie, so feel free to correct me when wrong :)

I did try to make the label, and I love the interface... but when I go to view the labels it errors: Bad print layout (margins or paper size)

I have checked the margins, label size, and the paper size, but they all seem to have no problems that I can discern.

Actually, IMHO, the only way to do this is a FORM designed and used only for your printout. I assume that the paper size is std Letter-81/2x11.

Also, they usually are 6Lines/inch. But in any case measure how many lines there are / inch vertical.
Let's assume Std 6LPI. Set the Form Grid at half-spacing or 12lpi. The grid would be .083inches/line or if 6LPI, .167inches/Line.
Anyway, the 6LPI is 22Lines/Section IF they were all equal. If one is smaller, then measure it. It's probably 20lines @6LPI and the others, if equal are now 23lines @6LPI.
So, make the top section layout, then mark-all, and copy it to the next section (probably at the 3 1/2 inch vertical level on the grid) that is not the actual check. align as necessary for that section
Then do the Last Section, I assume is the bottom one that is the actual Check.
In a form you can duplicate fields in the same record.
Try a sample form and put the same fields all over it, then choose to "Print Current Record".

If that works for ya, I get my Bear Badge.

Haven't read the other response and don't know if any of this has already been sugested:

          Your first question:
How to make one record per page?
          Easy:
Insert a group break based on a field that would have unique values, then select to print each group on a separate page.

          The second question:
how to make the report to repeat the same record 3 times on that one page?

          just as easy:
Put the same fields from the same table three times on the report.
