Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

On my desktop system I noted I had to reboot after updating to 3094 in order to stop this message on the WAS. Try rebooting.

zebra - theres 2 printers present - the alpha5 one and the amy pdf convertor one. I'll try your hosting once I can get a company card from someone, to see if its a hosting issue like memory as you suggest.

steve - tried this but still no joy! Still, I like a challenge so will continue to search for my solution!

Thanks for all you help with this!

Re: Result Stack Underflow Intermittant Error When Printing PDF Report

This problem has returned for me. So my earlier suggestion about rebooting was not effective. I can't figure out the pattern, but I now get that Amyuni Low Level Print error on all new or existing reports via the Application Server. If I reinstall an older patch, the problem goes away. If I reinstall build 3094, the problem returns. This is on my normal development computer publishing to localhost.

        ERROR:
        Errors in: event.AfterValidate code:

        Amyuni Low Level Print:
        Layout name: ListUsers@C:\_masters\A5v8\reportlocal\users.ddd
        Layout type: report
        Result stack underflow

FYI: The current build of 3094 that Selwyn points to below is working correctly for me.

Actually I am having significant problems with 3094 including a VPS account that only offers up 403 Forbidden on all pages for all of the applications installed on that server (five apps). And I continue to have problem with the Amyuni Low Level Print on the localhost with 3094.

Hmm thats not too good. Intermittant errors are fun aren't they?! Hopefully the guys will come up with a solution soon.
In the meantime what patch are you using that works? I think I'll try get a hold of it until this prob is sorted.

Steve W - How have you created your reports? Perhaps your method for calling them is different to others?

Re: Result Stack Underflow Intermittant Error When Printing PDF Report

No, I'm not using any unusual code. With the client at issue for me here, I use a grid or dialog link to call an .a5w page that contains the printing code. So far I haven't built them anything with a direct call from a dialog's AfterValidate event -- I prefer the seperate a5w page for greater flexibility.

I had this problem - I switched to Selwyns Beta 3094 as the latest patch (August5) brings on the problem again so don't use it - everything now works fine form me. The Beta is dated August 3. It must be on both server and local.

Peter, can't figure out if this mean use it, or don't use it. I've probably not had 3094 on BOTH my dev machine and the server at the same time (I don't really know, I was jumping around between patches), so maybe this is why I find 3094 "fails" when I use it.

Edit: Oh, I see the BETA patch is the one to use, not the public release.

Yes, use the one that Selwyn points to in this thread. It's working for me with the installation configuration I describe also in this thread.
