    Default 403 Forbidden - Again

I know this has been covered, but none of the solutions discussed so far work.

I have a page that simply prints a .pdf. When I call the page, I get this:

    403 Forbidden
Your security credentials do not allow access to this resource.
    - PDFs are allowed -- in fact other pages are producing PDFs just fine.

    - I've revised & uploaded page security settings several times, sometimes with "Always Allow", sometimes with "Login Required." No difference.

    - I've tried putting some debugging code on the page as simple as this:
    Code:
    ?"Show me this"
    end
    but no joy. Still 403.

I'm outta ideas. Anyone got another?

    Added on:

And on a possibly related note:

Earlier today I was printing another report as a pdf with fine results. But now when I try it I get this:

    500 Internal Server Error
    "Script Error
    Error:
    Amyuni Low Level Print:
    Layout name: MyReportName@f:\MyReporting.set
    Layout type: report
    Argument is incorrect data type"
(names above have been changed to protect the innocent)

Gonna be cheaper for me to hand-deliver the *&@ pdfs pretty soon...

Try looking on the server at the Pages.SecuritySettings, see if it includes that file with proper settings. I find that the security files don't always refresh even if you check the appropriate boxes.

Just deleted 'em from the server and re-loaded 'em from my system. Didn't work.

I'm suddenly getting this on a simple grid! I placed a "if,then" in my Afterupdaterecords. Works when I comment it out.

There is no "if, then" instruction in Xbasic.

    If you did this:

    Code:
    if somecondition, then
      do stuff
    end if
    You should have done this:

    Code:
    if somecondition then
      do stuff
    end if
the difference is in the comma in the first line.

Steve, when I get this message, it ususally means that it can't find the page, not security on the page at all.

Sometimes I spell the name incorrectly, and sometimes I get the path spelling wrong (including [PathAlias.ADB_Path])

The security is tested before the server even tests if a page exists. If a page isn't listed as allowed or requiring login in the security, it returns "403 Forbidden - Your security credentials do not allow access to this resource".

The most likely cause of the error, as Pat points out, is a missing or misspelled page. If the page never existed, it isn't going to be listed in the security.

    Eric,

You've got to be more specific and provide as much detail as you can. We cannot guess what your code looks like inside or outside of the IF THEN.
