Our company offers some products that have sequential numbering. Each product is packaged in some quantity of product per unit. And we place a label on each unit that has the starting number and the ending number for the sequential numbers of the products in that package. We have had someone entering each of these numbers manually and I was asked to come up with a more automated way to do this. However, I'm not even sure where to start so I thought I would see if anyone had thoughts or suggestions.
I have A5V8 Enterprise and 5-User Runtime Plus and would like to create a desktop solution that does the following:
User Input with Sample Data
Start Number: 0437001 (must keep leading 0's and number of digits could be between 4 and 9 digits)
Items per Unit: 100 (number of items per unit could vary from 100 to 5,000)
Units: 9 (units = number of labels)
Label: Avery 5160 (1" x 2-5/8" labels are currently used but it would be great if I could provide other options that could be selected from the main form)
Print Preview / Print
Sample Label Output
0437001-0437100 | 0437101-0437200 | 0437201-0437300
0437301-0437400 | 0437401-0437500 | 0437501-0437600
0437601-0437700 | 0437701-0437800 | 0437801-0437900
Once agian, if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions about how this can be accomplished that would be very much appreciated.
Thank You,
Tom
