Default Style Editor - Position Settings

I am trying to get my components situated where I want them on my A5W pages.

I haven't been able to find definitions for the various position setting options.
    static
    relative
    absolute
    fixed
    inherit

Can someone give me a simple description of each?

Also, any tips on how to situate various components?

    Thanks much.

The settings you mention are for positioning individual elements of a component, such as a Title, or Field. They do not affect the position of the component on the A5W page.

The most common way to position the component itself is through tables. If you insert a component inside of a table, and adjust the cell properties to be flush right/bottom, the component will be positioned at that location at runtime (etc.) You can also break up a component into its parts, and put those parts wherever you want. For instance, if you insert a Grid on an A5W page, you'll see that it comes in five or so individual segments. You can drag the "Details" segment away from the default location, and put it over-here and put the Errors segment over-there.

That's helpful, Steve. I did realize that I can position the components in tables. What I don't understand how to do is define the properties of a cell. For example, with the center button on the toolbar, I can align the component in the center of the cell. However, I would like to also align the component at the top of the cell, but I don't know how to add that formatting.

    Thanks, again, for your help.
