Default No upload in this forum possible

I did not succeed in uploading a file (jpg) to this forum. It does not work in Firefox and not in Internet Explorer. Alpha-Team: Please help!
    Thanks

Check your file size. Does it exceed the maximum allowed? Have you compressed it with a zip utility?

    Hi Tom,
it was a jpg with 8 KB of size. The browser did start an enquiry to this message board and that was it :-(

I'm sure it will work. Are you sure you pressed the upload button?

    Peter,
in German there is a saying; the translation might be: 'It works better if you plug it in!' (relating to a technical equipment which doesn't work ...). Of course I did press the button :-). Related to many useres here I am a newbe in using alpha5, but I am not in using a pc ....
    Grüsse,
    Roland

Scheiße? It's not really that bad is it?

Yes, I am German. But unfortunately I have long ago lost my ability to speak or really even read German. On the othe hand, it is genetic, isn't it?

P.S. Then again, my wife sometimes argues I have lost the ability to speak & write English! But, what does she know?!

    Well Peter,
you are completely right. I used the word "Scheiße" in the meaning of being despered. Alpha does not run as I want and this is really HARD. I don't ask my wife beacause she would not understand why I sit that long to try.
    Enjoying this communication;
    Roland

Roland, I wonder if the problem might be a language issue. Are you using any non-ASCII characters in the file name or path ? Could this be the difficulty with your database not opening (as described in the companion thread) ?

Send your photo by email to any one in this thread and let's see if we can upload it.

When you select your file and press the upload button, does the file name show in the small window below the selection, or is that where it hangs?

Do you have a firewall installed that may be blocking the actual upload?

Edit: Did you try uploading a different jpg or file type? Do you get the same results?
