    Default Grid component heading in-line style?

    I've noticed that the grid component heading in-line style cannot be changed either in color or size if the "sort column" box is checked.

    I need to shrink down some of my column heading titles due to length, but I also need those columns to be sortable.

    Does anyone know why this is like this, or any way around it?

    Which version of A5 are you using? I just did a quick test with mine and it seems to be ok. Attached a cut-up image of what I did and the results.

    I'm using 1847-3127 at the moment.

    Hope this helps some.

    I think he means the font size can not be changed. I tried to change the font size too, but it does not respond to my changes.

    Found the issue. It's in the general CSS style chosen for a page and a nesting issue.

    The HTML code output will generally look like this:

    <th class="BlueMoonColumnTD" style="font-size: 40px; text-align: left;" nowrap>
    <a class="BlueMoonSorterLink" href="/test_proj/pm_quick_loc.a5w?loc_q_view_SortColumn=1&loc_q_view_SortDir=Asc&">
    Serial #
    </a>
    </th>

    Unfortunately, the <a> link is automatically injected by the server and any CSS effects on it will overwrite the style you chose for the header.

    Now, when I looked at the basic definition for BlueMoon, I found two things:

    1. The BlueMoonSorterLink definition includes a setting for the color, and thus will stomp on your style choice.

    2. The general definition for BlueMoon has this at the top, and again will stomp on your choices.
    BODY, TABLE, TH, TR, TD, UL, OL, LI, P, A, BLOCKQUOTE, LABEL{
    font-family: tahoma, verdana, arial, helvetica;
    font-size: 10pt;
    }

    I can't think of any good way to get around it at the moment besides coming up with some sort of custom version of your chosen CSS. Or a rewrite of the server parsing. If the <a> was on the outside of a <div> which contained your heading text and possible images... hmmm.

    Dooka dooka... tinker... bang bang...

    I used the <span> tag directly inline with my header text to create the effect you want. Attached image shows the results. :)

    Well at least I know I'm not imaging things! I figured it could be modified by tinkering around with the html directly, I'm just not that skilled in it yet.

    I simply want to shrink the text down to about 8 or 7.

    A complex system that does not work is invariably found to have evolved from a simpler system that worked just fine.
