    Default Bill of materials table?

My first report is a simple bill-of-materials report of an assembly part, sorted by vendor but I guess I'm not working with the right table. I don't see a table listed that just has fields for item and quantity. Any hints?

Have you looked at ItemInventoryAssembly and ItemInventoryAssemblyLine?

Is there a way to put an argument on the report?

Still haven't figured out how to make ask variables do what I want.

Why is the help function missing from the menu system?

I've got 8 hours in this one report, so far it has cost more than all my copies of quick-books combined :)

    A few more road bumps.....

How do I keep detail sections from spanning pages?
    The are 3 lines each.

    Online Help is missing images.

How do I delete an unused variable or calc field, there is no right-click option, or to rename.

I'm unable to print an ask variable or calculated field in a group header.

Maybe I'm just missing something real basic here.

The problem I was having with Ask variables is apparently a bug. They started acting correctly after I removed them manually, rebooted, and re-added them.

    2 more things:

Clicking the Print Report icon on the main page, then selecting the report does nothing. Must choose Print Preview, then print from there.

Need a numerical format for variable decimal places. In other words, print decimal places if they exist, otherwise blank.

Is there a way to automate the refreshing of the certain tables at run-time? If not, the instructions for using Qreportbuilder end up being about the same number of steps as an export to Excel and print. The best thing would be a simple command-line to refresh tables then run report so I can make a single icon for each.

Check action scripting for refresh passive link tables. You can build a script and call it from another script named autoexec.

Can you export the report (and maybe the data) that is using the ASK variable? I'd like to look at it..
