Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

What does this error mean: Amyuni Low Level Print???

I think I have seen this soemwhere but I cannot find it. The reports work fine on my local machine, but not over the internet. This is the error I get:

    Errors in: event.AfterValidate code:

    Amyuni Low Level Print:
    Layout name: WAS_Patient_Phone_Dir@C:\AMAv5.0\Automated Medical Assistant\patients.ddd
    Layout type: report
    Result stack underflow

Is there some driver I need to install on the Server?

As a general rule, never create any path, filename, formname, tablename, or anything that will appear in a URL with embedded spaces, periods, dashes, etc. Fix that and retry before trying to diagnose. Either before or after that change, determine if this is the only report that has a problem, or if its all of them. This printer issue has always been hard to figure out, but please fix those syntax items first.

      Hi Steve,

I know I should do what you say - that certainly has been commented on many times. Unfortunately, that directory has been like that for years and years and would be very diffcilut to change at this point. Also, it has not caused me any other problems in all those years (probably at least 7 years)

As it turns out, it seems that I only get that error on one report so far. The others work fine. So do you have any thoughts on why a single report would be getting that error?

Do the other reports suffer from these long names with embedded periods and blanks, etc? If so, then I'm wrong about that requirement. If not, then you have to accept the possiblity that this is the issues.

Even though that report has existed for seven years, this is your first attempt to put it on the web, right? Different environment.

Search the forum for Amyuni, lots of comments. I would not go down the road some suggest of ensuring the driver is properly installed on the server. I don't think that has ever been a legitimate issue other than way back.

          Gary,

This may not pertain to your problem, but when I got this error it was because I was in design mode of the report when trying to print from the web. You need to be out of the design mode for the report at issue.

Re: What does this error mean: Amyuni Low Level Print???

I had a prob where the error message had nothing to do with the actual problem. Check out this thread:

Look in other areas as well as the report.

Thanks everyone for your feedback and help.

It turns out, at least for me in this case, that setting the Alpha Five Printer as the default printer on the SERVER was the solution. Once I did this, EVERY REPORT WORKS FINE :D
