Default How to 'Bookmark' a thread on this forum

In response to a question about bookmarking in another thread I thought I would post this here instead of replying where it had nothing to do with original question.
    • Goto the user control panel 'User CP' link top left of the forum page
    • From the panel on the left choose 'Edit Options'
    • Goto the 'Messaging & Notification' section
    • the second frame is for 'Default Thread Subscription Mode' where you find this
When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread.
    • choose something other than 'Do not subscribe' option
    • Again in the left panel of the User CP page under the 'Subscribed Threads' section choose 'Edit Folders' where you can add a folder.
    • Any thread that you start or that you post to will now end up in the subscriptions folder. From here you can move it to any folders you create
    • If you want to 'bookmark' an interesting thread that you have not participated in then you can choose the link 'Thread Tools' at the top of the thread and then 'Subscribe to this thread' and then choose the folder where you want to keep it.

    Hi Tim,

Never really thought of Thread Subscription as bookmarking but suppose it is of sorts.

Now...any way to do searches through the Subscriptions?! :) Number One reason I will continue to just compile my help file and create Links (Favorites)--I can organize and find what I need to find a bit easier. :)

May even try the EverNote program referenced in the prior thread.

PS....This, and a few other threads I call "Introductory" threads, should be placed as Stickys at the top of each forum ...possibly several compiled into one larger...

Mike, the Evernote program was something I had been wanting for years and it has been a life saver. With the wide variety of sources for info Evernote makes the ultimate container and by developing the habit of keeping all your interesting tidbits in one place (searchable) you can bet that you will find that it saves a great deal of frustration in trying to remember that item that you desparately need. I keep parts of the A5 threads that I know are keepers and I don't want to forget.

I hope they come out with a Mac version as I do most of my Alpha on a Mac laptop - in a Parallels window. Having Evernote on Mac would be the ultimate for me as more and more of my time is in the Mac platform (apart from Alpha :D)

    Hi Ken,
I ran across a program in a web search the other day for Mac only called Notebook. Let me see if I can find it again...

    Thanks Robin,

I ran across this a while ago and I think I will "pony up" for this. There was an article on apple.com about how this lawyer in Las Vegas handled all the case material using Notebook and faced off a much larger firm very readily.
