    Default Newbie needs help

I want to create a form that has 3 combo boxes with 8 items each. I need to have the viewable list from column 1 of a table and the value returned from column 2 of a table. Then I want to be able to select one item in each of the 3 combo boxes or dropdown lists then have those totals from the corresponding column 2 summed and stored in a variable. I don't know where to start.

    Thx.

Not really sure I know what it is you are truly wanting.

So I decided to throw caution to the wind and I assumed.

Take a look, got a simple shopping cart setup. Select an item from the drop down and it adds up the total. All the processing is done in the field rules of the cart.dbf table.

    Hi Andy,
If you are wanting to filter your records then the fields needed to group them need to be in the table so that the records will have these values in common.

In my Yarn Inventory example these are the fields common to all records in the table:
    Vendor Type Size
    Bolan Cotton 20/1
    Bolan Cotton 30/1
    Parker Cotton 20/1
Parker Cotton 30/1 'this is the record I want to find
    Parker Polyester 70D
    Parker Lycra 40D

If my first lookup is for Vendor I can filter the records to show only 4 records by selecting Parker. Then the next lookup I select Cotton for the Type and only 2 records are shown. If I then select 30/1 for the Size only 1 record displays.

Is this what you are wanting to do?
