Default To "zoom to record" or to "open form" using action scripting, that is the question.

Haha, that sounds like some famous poet.

    Anyway, back to reality...

    Background:
I have a form containing an embedded browse, and when the user clicks some button another form should open which will allow the user to edit the highlighted record from the browse.

    Question:
What is the best AS to use "zoom to record" or "open form"?

    Kind regards
    George

    I prefer the third option.

    Hi George,

    There are plenty of options.

How about putting a button on the browse that will open a small form to allow the user to edit selected fields.

    Hi,
Sure seems to me that Zoom to Record is simply a high level wrapper of opening up a form with the current record option or equivalent used. As such I don't think there is a difference other than perhaps less steps to open up a form when creating the script. So I say use whichever you are most comfortable with and suits the job.
