Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Could this be Video card. ?

There is a 1/4" to 3/8" inch "gap" that appears to the right of any window in A5. In, say, the control panel it is bordered by a frame. Like it could be sized. In the area beneath(beside the frame) I can see any previous window. If I go to design I can see the control panel and click on it to change windows. The gap appears if I view a table or am in the code editor. The A5 menu bar and the system button go all the way to the edge of the screen with this frame in 1/4-3/8" from the right. If I go into view mode on a form where there used to be a slider bar there is the background from the first form opened (in the application) in the 1/4" to 3/8" area. (Where there used to be a slider bar).
I changed Video cards (to my regret) a couple days ago, but I swear this started last night.

Can you post a screencap? (SnagIt has a fully functional free trial.)

ChopOmatic (Now that's a new one, was'nt that a kitchen gadget from the 60's. ?)
Attached is a bmp. If you look to the right you will see a frame. That frame is there everywhere. If I go into view mode a space that size is there where there should be a scroll bar.
I was using Jing till the trial period was up. Did not really care for it. Bought a NEAT program off E-bay for about $11.00 called Snap Video Pro. Works great. Even with Vista. Has tons of features.

      Best Regards

Weird. I guess it could be a video card issue, but it's strange that it would happen only in A5.

Have you tried changing resolutions? And, checked for the latest drivers updates to your new card? I know it's a pain, but can you put your old card back in just to test? David

                David et all

Changing resolutions was one of the first things I tried. Through Windows and the graphics card routines (Diamond 3D graphics card ATI) No effect. I can not put the old card back in as it went to video heaven.
I created a runtime version of the app and put it on a machine running XP with a generic video card. The same thing shows that shows on my "main machine." It is very irritating as I like as large a view as possible, but nothing I can't live with. I will have to "do something" in the long run as forms in view mode, when running the application, no longer have vertical scroll bars. A must for the finished product. Maybe by V10. (Which is what. ? About six months away now.?)
