Anybody know what it takes to get GMail to work with v9 when selecting FROM THE MENU BAR -- Tools / E-Mail / Send E-Mail? Or is this not possible?
My attempts have connected to GMail but Gmail simply puts something like this in my Inbox:
If I check the "Technical details", it indicates that my message was spam. (Just in case, I've tried other e-mail addresses, subjects, and even text - everything is "spam".)
My settings:
Incoming mail: pop.gmail.com
Outgoing mail: smtp.gmail.com
Recvg - User secure connection: SSL
SMTP Auth. Method: Same as incoming
Sending / Secure Connection: SSL (Tried TLS also. See below.)
SMTP Port: 465
POP Port: 995
Any attempts at using TLS with ports 25 or 465 have simply resulted in a "cannot connect to SMTP server" message. Using port 587 with TLS results in a "daily quota exceeded" error.
Edit:
Maybe I ran so many other tests that I truly did exceed the daily quota. I tried to send a message from within GMail itself and got this:
You have reached a limit for sending mail. Learn more
So I followed the Learn more link and found this:
Google will temporarily disable your account if you send a message to more than 500 recipients or if you send a large number of undeliverable messages. Sounds like a Catch 22 to me.
