Default Drop down with Add Entry

When I use the drop down with a dynamic update (to a dbf file) on my web app, it doesn't allow me to add an entry or just type one in. I only have the option to choose data that's already in the table.

What would I need to do so it will allow me to append another record or just type one and not append it? I would like it to look like the desktop version if possible. (attached jpg)

That is because a dropdown HTML control is always read only. There are examples in the AJAX part of the web application samples shipped with Alpha5 that "fake" a dropdown with editable content but a standard HTML dropdown/select control is always read only, nothing to do with Alpha5. http://www.htmlcodetutorial.com/forms/_SELECT.html
