Filtering from a dialog

I am trying to use a dialog to compare the value entered for zip code to a zip code table. If the zip code is in the table, the user will be redirected to the order page, otherwise they will be directed to a different page.
Here is the code that I am placing in the on click event (I also tried it in after validation script) It does not work; the page does not redirect, regardless of whether the zip is in the table or not. Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

Hi Richard,

I suspect that your problem is with the dim shared statement. That is not relevant on the web. Test it out by replacing that line with the following 2 lines:

dim czipvar as c
czipvar="33302"

If the script works, then your problem is trying to dim a shared variable on the web.

I found two problems:

1. I moved the script from the "After Validate" event that runs when you click the "Submit" button, to the "On Click" event that you use when you don't have a submit button, such as when you create an advanced button. Therefore, the script was not running at all. I fixed that by moving it back to the "After Validate" event, since I am using a "Submit" button.

2. I had set the scope of the czipvar to "session" instead of "local". Therefore, the script did not "see" the variable. Therefore, I changed the variable scope to "local", and it works. I could have also changed the variable name in the script to session.czipvar.
