If this can't be done (see below), I'm going to have to drop A5V9 WAS and look at some other web development tool that can. I have a client breathing down my back for a solution. I can find nothing in the docs or in Susan Bush's book re this issue.
It sounds like it ought to be trivial to do, but I can't figure out just how to do it.
Issue
I have a grid displaying all the records in an Access table. There's around 2,500 records in the table. It is a list of drugs that are categorized by type, e.g., cardiovascular, antibiotic, antiviral, etc. The data in the table consists of US marketing and sales info for these drugs. The fields displaying are:
Drug, Sales this year, Sales last year, Sales growth, category and other info.
The grid has a simple search field which I set up to allow one to search on drug name as well as category. If I enter antiviral in the search field, I only get a list of drugs categorized as antivirals. This is very cool and trivial to do!
If I type in *chlor* it gives me a list of the drugs which contain the phrase chlor in the Drug name. I really like this capability.
However, I would like to print a report of the result of any query that is executed. I have a report designed with the appropriate fields of interest which prints all of the records.
How can I pass the result of these grid queries/filter to this report that I have defined so I can print only the current query that has been executed?
