Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Re: V10 Training - who is going?

The training will be conducted by the Alpha Five v10 development team and is designed to impart a deep understanding of the speed of development, the power and the flexibility that is inherent in Alpha Five v10.

The seminar will also represent an opportunity to meet other like-minded developers in a relaxed setting.

Please click this link below for information and to register. The training seminar is at the Hilton Garden Inn, Burlington MA and we have arranged for discounted rates at the same hotel.

If you are considering attending - please sign up as soon as possible, because the training facility has a fixed capacity and we are well over 70% of room capacity at this stage.

I'm coming and look forward to learning a lot.

My wife is coming along as well and will be sightseeing during the sessions. If you have somebody with you in the same situation perhaps they could tour the area together. We're staying at the Hilton and will arrive late Tuesday. If interested give me a call at 256.654.4884. Jeff

Re: V10 Training - who is going?

I am trying to figure out if it is realistic to catch a plane at 2:30pm on Thurs, Aug 20.

What forms of transportation are available to / from Logan Airport and Burlington?

                    Thanks.

Re: V10 Training - who is going?

I'm not arriving until 10PM the 18th but staying an extra day after the training. The hotel recommends Taxi for airport transportation. I may get a car instead. I may switch to an earlier flight in; my choices are to arrive on the 18th at 7AM or 10PM if I want to use my miles for a free flight.

It's 20 miles from airport to hotel.

Here is a link to a map from airport to hotel.

Re: V10 Training - who is going?

So I AM arriving at 8AM on the 18th. I'll have a car so I can make a couple of trips and transport people to the hotel. My mobile is the 'office' number on this page: http://www.alphatogo.com/contact.a5w

And I look like the guy on this page, without the grin:

If you want a ride, best to work out the details in advance.

Cheap ride - Gas, V10 tip, or beer.

BTW, the hotel does NOT have a shuttle and its about 20 miles.

In the past when I visited Alpha, I took the Woburn shuttle. That could be a good choice for attendees. Runs every 1/2 hour and there are usually cabs at the Woburn station for the run to the hotel.
