Problem with creating a working table set
Having trouble creating a set that works correctly.
I have 3 tables which are:
1) Month table
Controlling Month char 2 01 thru 12 values
2) Category table
Category_Month char 2 01 thu 12 values
Category Description char 45
Category Indicator char 1 I = Income, X = expense
3) Detail table
Detail Month char 2
Detail Description char 45
Detail Indicator char 1 I = Income, X = Expense
Actual $$ Numeric 8 2 decmals
I tried to link all 3 tables (create set) so the following would occur:
When a user enters a month ( say 01) in the Controlling Month,
It Loads the Category and Detail table with all records for January. The Month Table is a 1 to many to the Category table, The Category table is a 1 to many to the Detail table.
Here is a simple form example:
User enters 01 in the Controlling Month field.
For month 1 I want to create a category called Income, then in the detail section, create multiple detail category's such as payroll, stocks, checking account, etc.
A sample of the form: Users adds Income the all details that belong to Income. Once saved, whenever the user enters the form and types 91 in the Controlling Month field, the following show appear:
Month = 01
Category:
Income 01 Payroll I $ 3,500.00
01 Stocks I $10,000,00
01 Checking Account I $ 2.050.00
I had no trouble creating a set for the 1st 2 tables. It�s when I tried linking all 3 the problems occurred.
Can anyone help by instructing me on how to set up the tables and sets?
