A few of things happened today. First, I attended the Alpha webinar regarding Fusion Charts. Next, I realized how lazy or maybe spoiled I have become. V10 is my kind of application. I can do great things with very little effort., with very little coding (CODELESS is a key word in Alpha-land these days). FusionCharts is a very cool product and I was excited about the possibility or using it with Alpha, hence my attendance to the webinar. If my only choice was to use FusionCharts as presented, I might have been stuck with SimpleChart.. I am not a SQL/javascript guy (yet), and felt lost.
Now the good news. I have also have had the pleasure of being a beta tester for Steve Workings new FusionCharts Genie. Steve has really taken the effort out of creating charts with FusionCharts. I think that anyone attending the webinar would appreciate what Steve has done by taking the coding out of creating Charts (almost CODELESS?) The genie allows you to choose a chart type, define a datasource (dbf, grid or fixed) add your fields or expressions and amazing charts are produced. The free version of FusionCharts really blows away anything we have been able to produce with Alpha and Simplechart. Add Steves genie and you will save hours of work, which equates directly to $$$. The first time you use this, it will probably pay for itself in the time and effort you expend without the genie. Made for lazy guys like me, yet powerful enough to produce some really cool charts. I believe Steve will be posting some info this weekend regarding its release. I am not sure if SQL will be a data source, but I believe, if you have data on a grid, you are good to go. Keep your eyes open for Steves announcement.
NO, I am not a family member, relative or receive commission from Steve. Yes, I do like promoting things that I think will benefit others, and more importantly, work well and save me time.
