In A4 I was able to have a set that was linked by an expression. I used Last_Name+First_Name in both tables. Referential Integrity = Yes, Cascading Updates = yes and Cascading Deletes = yes.
In A5 if I choose 'Cascading Changes/Deletes' I get a wonderful error telling me:
"You can only select the 'Cascades Changes/Deletes' option for 'Referential Integrity' if the 'Parent Key'is a field, not an expression"
If I choose 'Prevent Changes' I get another error:
"Could not create/edit link. It is possible the child table was open in another session. Alpha 5 needs exclusive use to the child table. Try exiting from Alpha 5 and creating the link again".
I exited, rebooted, stood on my head and spun without any progress. It would seem in this area A5 is a step backwards from A4. I was able to create the link/set with Referential Integrity set to none. Is there any hope for this working with Referential Integrity?
