Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Re: Fatal error running a5_ajax_grid(): Property not found grid.ActionButtonHTMLTempl

    Here is what I did:

First, I reverted back to build 2659-3515 as suggested by Peter.

Second, when I opened a grid with linked grid, the error appeared in the preview, but after I re-saved and publish, the error was gone.

Third, so I opened and re-saved all my grids with linked grids.

Now web app is functioning fine.

    Hope this helps.

Better make myself clear on this issue, I was the problem, not the new build. I had failed to install the update on the Application Server. Once I had both versions working in synch, the error messages went away. I haven't had ANY issue with the latest patch (3522) since.

I have tried all possible solutions,
no way to fix it ... I give up. I have spend so many hours trying - this is not right!

the big question the error is occurring in some and not all the grids...

we have to wait for the new patch to have the problem fixed - hopefully!

Yeah, I realized that the other day when I was looking at the image again, it's a Cheetah, not a Leopard. Ver 10 is fast, but Cheetahs are faster.

              Marios,

Your issue is one I'm currently trying to work through, but the variation probably isn't due to the grid but rather the data you're putting in--if info is copied from an XML source, it won't save into a text field in a SQL Server table (unless perhaps it's an XML data type--I haven't yet explored this, as I also haven't explored other SQL data types). Regardless, I wanted to go ahead and get this out there and see if anyone's figured out how to get around this.

Any and all help is appreciated...

                  Marios,

Do I understand that you didn't encounter this error in previous builds?

                    yes, never before

my application is know completely useless.
i have to re-write it. I tried to rebuild some of the grids but nothing is working properly...

the latest patch is a disaster patch. DO NOT USE IT will seriously harm your work - stay with old nice one.

I hope it's not a disaster patch since I am using it with great success. The only beef I had was with the printing of pdf reports. Lenny showed me what to do with that and now every thing is working as advertised.

One thing I think you need to check is this. Make sure your development machine and your server are running the same build.

It definitely is not a disaster patch for me also, everything working really well. However, I only have V10 applications running. Tommy, I have the problem with PDF's not printing as well. Are the instructions from Lenny easy to impart on this message board?

                        Thanks

All I did was make sure v9 compatibility was turned off and that the builds on the development machine and server matched. It works fine now.

Marios and anyone else having the issue that Marios and I were having, I submitted as a bug yesterday and Selwyn sent me a pre-release of the next patch, which solved the copy and paste issue. It did however require that I dirty, re-save, and re-publish most of my components as some others here did. I let him know this so hopefully that won't be an issue when the actual patch comes out(?). Just wanted to give an update.

I got that error when I updated only A5, but not the application server. Once I updated the app server, the error was corrected.

Could we get this pre-release patch as well?
maybe this will get us back working normally again.
