Default Home button based on login re-direct

I want to create a home button on every page that says "home" and takes the user to their respective home page.

I'm using the built in security system that redirects users based on their security group. All pages are set to "requires login" and are shared by different groups.

Is there a code I can use that when a user clicks on the "home" button at the bottom of the page (not associated with any grids or a5w code, just html), they are directed to their respective "redirect page after login"?

I don't know if this might help you, but you can create a dialog as a button and code it anyway you want. See this thread:

Ok, I undertsand your thinking. What I would need to do though is call the re-direct page from the server and forward the user to their respective re-direct page without having to get them to logout. I will play around to get the correct code....unless you have an idea?

I will also use that code for my logout as it's something I needed already and was using a basic thing of just re-directing them to the login page (sessions only last 1 hour so didn't see it as too much of a security issue)

For anyone interested in the above functionality, here is how to do it.

I created a dialog called home, used the Peter's example of making a dialog just a button (Thanks Peter) and added the following code to AfterValidate:

    Code:
    dim pUser as p
    a5ws_logged_in_user_values(pUser,request,session)

    response.redirect(puser.RedirPage)
Getting the hang of this Alpha now :D
