    Default Email sent notification

    Is there a way to test for an email being successfully sent?

    I need to add a string to a note field indicating that an email message was sent but I only want to add the test if it was successfully sent.

    Thanks

    email_send() has a return value of 0 if email was not sent, and 1 if the email was sent.
    email_send2() also returns a value.

    Thanks Garry.

    Is it possible to test for the email_send result in an action script?

    I would like to make a dialog box display if email_send = 0

    Thanks

    What I do is sent it as an email. You can do a search on the internet to get the correct address. We use verizon so to send a phone a text message you can email it to phonenumber@vtext.com

    No, but probably the easiest path is to convert the AS to xbasic and then use ui_msg_box() to warn the user of a problem.

    Not an AS expert, but any action in AS could be qualified with an IF statement. There should be a box or somewhere where you would check the IF and then use a qualifier, which in this case whether the outcome of email_send() is 1 or zero.

    Somehow I remember people having trouble with the AS IF statements. Perhaps a better approach is to translate it to xbasic, which is much simpler:

    Code:
    x=email_send(....)
    if x=0
    msgbox("Mail was not sent")
    else
    ("Mail was sent successfully")
    end if
