    Thumbs down Local Help File

Is there a way to get a PDF or local help for V10? I am going out of the US to an area where internet access is spotty at best.

I will be there only a short while, but having a local help file would put my mind at ease.

as far as I know all you can do is use the V9 chm help file and the "what's new in V10"

I think the old style chm help files are not used anymore

That is what I have been using. Unfortunately, the 'What's New in V10' is ONLY online.

I understand it is a work in progress, and I would rather Alpha use it's resources to enhaance V10, but a usable User Guide for the NEW V10 features is a MUST.

Yes the video's are nice, but I need a manual! Maybe because I am self taught, I feel more comfortable with a manual with trial and error.

It probably goes back to my Commodore 64 days, when all I had was a magazine and LOTS of TIME. Well I don't have lot's of time anymore.

The information in a specific help topic can be to a pdf printer driver, which gives you the informationn in a pdf file.I do this frequently when I've found a good reference topic.
1 - open the topic in Alpha Software Help
2 - close the left hand contents column (to give more room/page)
3 - Set the printer default to a pdf printer driver
    4 - click 'print'
The attached is a pdf file for the "Application Development Tools and Functions" as an example
I use Nuance Paper Port, have it set to default all the time.
PDF Creator from SourceForge works fine too - shareware so price is right.

Barry - there are also books specific to V10 which can be downloaded as pdf, or used on disk.

A short while ago ....well, last year I guess (time goes way fast now...), I did a quick search and found a freeware called CutePDF Writer which can be used for personal or commercial use--no watermarks, no adware/nag screens.

I would second the request for a .chm file for v10, again also understanding it's a work in process... I know Alpha's thrust lately has been web-centric, but there are a few of us left who are still developing for the desktop, and have more than one instance when internet is not always available. Just my two cents - hope someone is listening!
