    Default Disappearing Child Data

I saw a reasonable long thread in Version 8 about data loss in an app, even after the data is verified as entered. I am using 10.5 on W10 machine

There were several ideas but I couldn't really find an answer/solution.

My app, running solely on a desktop, non-network setup overall runs fine, with just one set in use and a variety of parent/child, 1-many links driving two multi-tabbed items on one form. I use embedded browses based on the 1-many links.

I have one link, however, that is giving me a fit.

    1. Is it reliable and proper to use a 1-many link on a grandchild link. In other words, I have a parent-child link that works fine. I have a child to child 1- many link from that child link and it simply does not hold the data in the child table. It shows as saved in my form but when I close the form, or change to another portion of the tabbed form, and return to the "troubled" tab/record, the data is gone, including in the child table itself. I am the only person using the app.

    2. I know it is hard to help someone when the app is generically described, but I am wondering if it is proper to connect different sets on a form. Linking them together, I guess, is something I would have to learn as I have never done that before.

Hope this comes through as udnerstandbale.

    Thanks in advance.

Attached (I hope) are two images. It is the bottom right embedded browse giving me the problem.

If you have cascade changes and deletes turned on, try dropping that and test

Thanks very much Stan. It works like I wanted.

Very simple answer I wouldn't have thought of.

My presumption is that a grandchild 1-many should work but referential integrity shouldn't be enforced.

Well, I am not Stan and did not see anything from Stan in this post, but glad it worked.
From past experience, it did seem logical.

Most of my apps use No ref integrity. Seems to affect speed among other thigs, so is reserved to "as really needed" status.
