What is QReportBuilder

I thought it might be building reports in Alpha 5 which is why I had posted a question on unused fields in reports on this forum. When I did a search on QreportBuilder, the tutorials looked like the Alpha 5 tutorials. However a search on QBR in Alpha 5 V10 does not seem to show anything. I don't understand.

QReportBuilder (QRB)is a separate product from Alpha5.

QRB is a combination of Alpha5 (currently a build of v9), and the QODBC driver that FlexQuarters created (the most widely used driver to connect to QuickBooks I do believe)....with some features not directly related to report building taken out.

There are some features in QRB that Alpha5 does not have (on the surface so to speak) which makes it much easier for some things such as connecting to QuickBooks, exporting/importing reports (although v10 now can do the same I believe), and other bits and pieces.

So it is not building reports for Alpha5 (although you could)...you use it to build reports mainly for QuickBooks (or Access, Excel, etc). It is the Alpha5 report writer.

So if you are familiar with Alpha5 then you would be right at home with QRB.

I have v10.5, but in searching for a tool to just develop reports in, have come across references of Enterprise reports for Alpha 5. I also tried to see if this was an additional module, but could not find anything in the webstore. How does this fit into the Alpha reporting scenario?

QRB is for making reports from QuickBooks data. It is a combination of A5 and QODBC (which opens QB to the rest of the computer world)

You can also use A5 10.5 and a copy of QODBC to create reports from QB.
