no records for SQL query

The obvious is right in front of me, but I can't seem to see it. I just need to execute a SQL query in xBasic and capture if there was a record found or not. All the ResultSet functions I've tried, including ResultSet.DataisNull() rely on a row being returned. How do I know via xBasic if a row was returned or not?

Use the sql genie to create the code.


You can then loop through the results and you can insert your code to check for empty results.

Thanks so much Omar. That's actually a lot more than I needed, but the NextRow() does the job--if no records are returned, rs.Nextrow() returns .f.. I should have specified earlier what I was doing--I just wanted to run XBasic to see if a record with certain criteria existed and do one thing if it did and another if it didn't.

Basically

IF cn.ResultSet.NextRow() then
//execute certain code here
else
//record not found
end if

The poster above: code can be simplified to
while cn.ResultSet.NextRow()
//run record processing code or whatever here
end
