Default Connection Strings For Multiple Clients and Users

Is there a video or help file that describes how to change the path for a named connection string based on a user's login?

The web app I am starting to develop will need to change the connection string based on a user's login in. We host multiple clients that have their own backend Access databases (all identical tables) and when a user logs on, we want to identify which client they belong to, and then connect them to the appropriate back end database.

To further complicate, some clients have more than one back end database (for different companies they own), so a user for that client will need to be able to select which of those back end databases to connect to.

It would be great if there were a video describing this type of scenario, but I can't find one. Can anyone point me to some good help for this? Thanks!

Selwyn send me a mail about dynamic connections:

" you can easily create dynamic connection strings.

    there are several approaches

    1. redefine the connection string in the a5_application.a5i file. the connection string in the app is still 'alpha', but the meaning of 'alpha' is changed to point to some different database.

    2. in an individual grid, in the onGridExecute event, define the connection string property.

    e.g.

e.tmpl.cs.connectionstring = "my new connection string"

    3. read the release notes and search for this topic: Grid Component - SQL Databases - Credentials For Connecting to Database "

Furthermore combine your solution into a company/user connect table that the user can select what DB to open place the connect stuff inside the db.
