Checkbox select column

I am trying to use this feature. As examples
1) How to filter the grid to show only selected rows or vice versa how to hide selected rows?
2) How to cycle through the selected records and set a static value in a field in the grid.
A5 doc is very poor in this regard and the couple of posts that refer to this feature didn't help much.

I agree with the poor documentation regarding this option
this check boxes are planed to be used with user ajax callbacks
Im to trying to use this option and this is the best reference I have found:

Hi Mauricio:
I spent much time and gray matter on this wiki page. If it was the only feature that's poorly documented I wouldn't be ranting. A couple of examples from Alpha team would save us, the mere mortals, much time and frustration.

There is a video that shows how to use this feature. I can't remember where I found it. It helped me to use this feature. Hopefully someone knows how to get to the video

put this in your xbasic function declarations

function Test as c (e as p)
    Text = e.checkboxRows.countChecked 
    Test = "alert('"+Text+"')"    
end function

Turn on Quick serach and put this on the quick serach's "Freeform layout" option

{QuickSearch} 
<button onclick="[B]{grid.Object}.ajaxCallback('G',1,'Test');[/B]">Test</button>

A test button will appear aside from the Quick search area

Further more change the TEST function I just posted to this on the xbasic function declaratios

Now that you have the Keys (ids) yo can do almost anything yo want with those records

I made this code so its easy to adapt to any situation where you need to update the selected records using a SQL backend, just change the variables in red

In the Xbasic function declarations put

In the quick search freeform layout (or any other place of the grid) put:

{QuickSearch}

{grid.Object}.ajaxCallback('G',1,'Fn_Update');">Update</button>

this code includes a wait msg that is displayed until the callback is done, and the grid will be refreshed
