Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

I don't think there plans to fix this in V10.

Re: Developer Edition - Build 3608 - CPU at 100%

I think the best is to move to V12... V12 is already in Beta. Many features are under development.
I am using the last version because of the new features that I really need for my projects.
But I think AlphaSoftware does not have this type of support for older versions.
Maybe someone else on this forum has figured out how to solve this on V10.

Re: Developer Edition - Build 3608 - CPU at 100%

For all those users who may be interested for a smoother running and faster WAS ( web application server)
check out the program called process lasso.
It is a free and paid for piece of software that supersedes the windows task scheduler and has everything run so much better.
It also has what is called CPU parking which eliminates the CPU from being parked making the over computer run so much faster AS WELL.
Check it out. I use it and it makes my whole computer and WAS server run faster and smoother..
Almost ZERO lag time in my WAS response times.
NO MORE PROCESSOR PEGGING AT 100%!!!!

              Process Lasso Logo Process Lasso
ProBalance - Automatically 'restrain' CPU hogs to improve system responsiveness.
This begins as soon as you install Process Lasso, and, yes, it really works!
Energy Saver - Run at maximal performance while active, but conserve energy when idle
Automate and control processes and power profiles
One of a kind system responsiveness metric to quantify your experience!

Process Lasso is NOT yet another task manager. It is a process priority optimization and system automation utility. Priority optimization, affinity optimization, core optimization, automated rules, automated power profiles; you name it, and Process Lasso does it!

Process Lasso's most popular feature is the unique process optimization technology called ProBalance (Process Balance) that will improve your PC's responsiveness and stability through process priority optimization and/or CPU affinity adjustments. Windows, by design, allows programs to monopolize your CPU without sufficient restraint -- leading to hangs, micro-lags, and delays in your keystroke or mouse actions. ProBalance intelligently adjusts the priorities and/or CPU affinities of running programs, on-demand, as-needed so that badly behaved processes won't negatively impact the responsiveness of your PC. ProBalance works by temporarily lowering the priority of select background processes during high loads. This has been proven to be effective, as you can see from our CPU Eater demo.

Don't just take our word on ProBalance, try the graphical proof of concept. This is a simple 'CPU Eater' running at normal priority, something any programmer can easily recreate in any language. The difference with or without ProBalance is amazing.

In addition to ProBalance, there are countless features allowing the user to take full automated control of the processes on their PC. You can have a wide range operations performed, or settings applied, each time a process is run. Core optimization technologies allow you to choose on what CPUs/cores a process should run, as well as what their CPU priority class and I/O priority class should be. You can also disallow specified processes from running, log all processes run, and even set various other process rules. These rules, amongst many others, include automatically restarting or terminating a process after it reaches some CPU or memory threshold.

              Optimize - Automate

Process Priority and CPU Affinity Optimization
ProBalance retains system responsiveness during high loads by dynamic process priority and/or CPU affinity adjustments
              Hyper-Threaded core avoidance
              Process Settings Automation
Persistent (saved) CPU, memory, and I/O priorities, CPU affinities, and other process settings
Disallowed processes, terminate bothersome processes every time they are seen running
Instance limits, limit the number of instances a process may have per user session, or for the whole PC
Restart selected processes if they terminate, crash, or are closed
Watchdog allows custom rules. When processes go over a CPU or virtual memory threshold, one can execute a command, change their CPU affinity, process priority class, I/O priority, trim the working set, log the occurrence, and more!
              Power Profile Automation
Energy Saver - Run at maximal performance while active, but conserve energy when idle.
Application Power Profiles - switch power profiles when given applications are running. For instance, switch to 'High Performance' when you start a game
Anti-Sleep - Keep the PC and/or display awake when specified processes are running
              Other
Unique System Responsiveness calculation - Accurately shows responsiveness of your by percentage, based on real-time latency in the Windows user interface.
Stand-alone core engine that can run as a system service
              Designed for multi-user environments
Control core parking, and visualize parked CPUs in real-time
Minimal resource use and totally optional GUI that goes into a sleep-mode when minimized to the tray
Log of processes launched, and statistics on process duration and average CPU use when they exit
Silent installer with command line switches for easy deployment
              Optional password protection on configuration
              Silent and automated updates
Process Lasso runs on all editions of Windows XP, 2003, 2008, Vista, 7, 8, and 2012.
              So much more...

                Calyxte,

Do you use ProcessLasso on the WAS server, or on your developer machine?
Can I get more performance on my Windows Server 2012, running Alpha V12 Application server?

                I would appreciate your comments.
                Tks,
