Using 'Export to Excel' feature pack, Alpha 10.5 build 3040, company intranet use only.
Excel Export works perfectly when tested on server itself, both with Live Preview and with Internet Explorer (IE7). (Server account is admin and browser not restricted.)
Clients using this app are all on intranet, using supplied pc's which have IE7 browser installed and no access to its security/privacy tabs which are locked down.
No other browsers are available to clients. They can see the grid with its Excel icon, the 'hand' appears when hovering over it, when they click, it appears to try to execute (blue bar appears at bottom of browser showing activity), then does nothing.
Having local admin on my pc, I have G-Chrome and Firefox/Firebug. However with no restrictions on these browsers, the same problem exists in both - no Excel download from client pc.
Any ideas as to what might be causing this, or a possible workaround or how to debug further?
To narrow down issue, I've tested with a simple grid with a single dbf of 1 field, 1 record, no other elements, same result.
Perhaps its something to do with the setup - described below.
The server is Win2003 SP1 and needs to run IIS (port 80) for 1 other application.
So the Alpha 5 Application Server running on this machine uses port 81.
I have A5-Developer installed on this same server too and do A5 development on it (its a powerful server) and since ports 80 and 81 are in use, the A5-Developer's app-server is using port 82. (Two app servers on same machine, I know! As I said, its a powerful server. They appear to work independently.)
So when developing on server itself: http://localhost:82/<app>/home.a5w
- Excel export works fine using IE7 browser.
Also within A5-dev, in 'Live Preview' it works fine.
On any client, any browser type: http://<server>:81/<app>/Home.a5w
- Excel export doesn't work.
All other aspects of A5 work fine.
Note: hovering over Excel Export icon gives following in Firebug:
<img style="cursor: pointer;" title="Export data in Grid to Excel" src="images/$$application.ms.excel.png.a5image" onclick="REP_ALL_DA_113645LQNG_GridObj.exportData('Excel',10000);">
Firebug Response panel shows (after no action):
ar e = $('REP_ALL_DA_101445SBOK.__IFRAME1');
e.src = '__A5FileDownload.a5w?c=%5fa5filedownload&fileToDownload=E%3a%5cA5webroot%5cCE%5cCE%5fTEST%5cbackup%5csession%5ffolders%2d81%5cf5b0907b6b65465daa45a65fb42bce84%5cGrid%5fREP%5fALL%5fDA%5f101445SBOK%5fdata%2exls';;
