Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    QReportBuilder Refresh Data Error

    Hello,

I downloaded the trial of QReportBuilder and attempted to connect the program to my QuickBooks files. I am using QuickBooks Pro 2007 in a Windows 7 64-bit environment. Early in the refresh data process, I get a message error. After hitting "OK" to clear the error, the process seems to lock at that table. The table is the bill table. The error message states:

In a5_qrb_genericFunction(): Result set row requested not found while getting result set data column.

What is the issue here? Could it be a failed installation of QReportBuilder or is there a compatibility issue with QuickBooks 2007 Pro. I am anxious to try this program with our data because I think it will help with many of the limiting issue inherent with the reporting system built into QuickBooks. Any assistance in addressing this issue would be greatly appreaciated.

    An update on the issue:

First, I apologize for the multiple posts. I didn't realize that there was a review of new posts before they appeared on the forum, so I'll make this the official post for my problem (ignore other post).

So, after doing some research I decided to manually refresh the tables that contained data that I need for reports I would like to generate. I used the Create Reports option to list all the tables available, and then used the "Show QuickBooks screens that use this table" link to see which tables house the data entered in the QuickBook screens, to begin to refresh those tables. So far, I have had an issue with 4 related tables: Bill, BillExpenseLine, BillItemLine and BillLinkedTxn. All other tables so far have been refreshing without issue.

The error I receive with the manual refresh of the tables listed above is exactly the same message I received with the mass refresh, but with a little bit more information. A screen shot is posted below. It appears that there is a script error from a SQL command that is not finding information it is expecting to find, but I'm not sure why this is happening. Any suggestions?

      QB 2007 on win 7?

      Does Intuit support that?

I've had no problem with QB 2007 on XP, but haven't tried it on Win 7.

I don't have any problem with 2009 or later with win 7....

I doubt Intuit is still supporting QB 2007...

No, Intuit does not support QB 2007 anymore. We are planning an upgrade later this year. Do you think that the issue I am having is related to running QB 2007 in the Windows 7 environment? Why would only certain tables be affected by this error if that is the case?

I would make sure that you have the latest version of QRB on Windows 7

Run the QB verify utility to see if there is a problem.

Load the upgrade of QB on the Win7 machine and test prior to the QB upgrade.

I'd do a lot of testing prior to moving to new versions of anything...

            Re: QReportBuilder Refresh Data Error

Thanks. I will definitely make sure to do that before we upgrade. The planned transition is not scheduled until later this year. I did download the latest update of QRB and still receive the same error. Only the Bill, BillExpenseLine, BillItemLine and BillLinkedTxn tables will not refrsh with my company data. Every other table has refreshed without trouble. Any suggestions on how to get this data into QRB now, so that I can use it for reporting purposes?
