Unexpected Internal Alpha Five error.

I am trying to use data structures
type myData
something as C
something as N
end type

and I get the following error:

Error Unexpected internal Alpha Five error.

Can you show us the code you are actually using? You must use different names for each element you are defining. In what you've shown so far you use the name "something" more than once which is wrong.

The screendump will show you that
a. the error emerges the moment I define the type, even with just one type element. however, here is an extract from the code.

clientID AS C
created_by AS C

I think maybe you've bumped into an obscure bug.

This code works:

' Declaring Variables Using a Structure

type customer
    name as C
    company as C
    phone as C
    age as N
end type

dim cust as {customer}

msgbox("cust", properties_enum(cust))

'type BA_Client ' new client
'clientID AS C
'created_by AS C
'transaction_number AS C

However, if you uncomment the block I've commented out you get the error. Seems to be related to the presence of the comment at the end of the first line of this block. Omit the comment and the code performs cleanly. Wierd.

I have also (rarely) had a comment cause a

dim such_and_such as C

fail so no longer use a comment after any dimensioning....cannot remember what version, but most likely v8.
