Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Publishing

    Hi all!

With the new interface, I've been searching but can't find anything on this problem. Yet I know it must be out there somewhere.

When trying to publish I am getting a message

    Script_A5WebProjPublishDlg Line 753
    Property Not Found
    wf.xbasic subelement not found

The publish of the page then stalls.

    Any help on this?

    Thanks,

    Charlie

    Re: Publishing

Charlie, I know it's been years since you had this errors message - do you remember what caused it and how you solved it?
I'm moving an old project from AlphaFive (v10 to AlphaAnywhere (v12) and I get to the same stalling while I publish the pages.
    Thanks!

Re: Publishing Error - wf.xbasic subelement not found

Just got this error, latest build as of 09/21/2016.

      Script: a5_publish_comp_low() line:100
      Property not found
      wf.xbasic subelement not found.

I was two levels down level. I updated the server to build 3670_4684 (current as of today) and did the same for the developer GUI.

Trying to publish the whole application. Publishing stalls with this error, however I can independently publish Grid_Transactions (see image.)

Even selectively bypassing that Grid, I get the error.

I edited Grid_Transactions so it was dirty, saved, and same outcome.

        Re: Publishing

        Carl,
I just opened the project that was giving me that error. Publishes all right now. I know I published it last year and it's live and working fine (as far as I know).
Sorry I really don't remember how I got pass that error. I remember it was giving me a heartburn for a few days but not sure if I rewrote the grid part or found the error culprit and commented out some parts.
When I get a chance, could look in the archive and open the old project (v10.5) and try to recreate migrating it to v12 and see if it comes to that point again.
        Good luck,
        Sime

          Carl,
          A quick update:
I found the old project and tried to publish it in v12 and voila - the error came up.
When I opened the .a5wcmp file it asked me to turn on the AJAX support. After saying "Yes" (usually reluctant to do that ever since I said Yes when getting married :) ), the publishing went Ok.
The two images attached. Hope this helps.

PS this one was a Grid, but I think it happened with a Dialog too.

            Re: Publishing

I'm in V12, so this being in V10 is bogus. I followed the "wf.xbasic subelement not found" message.

I just need a clue where to look. I'm going to repost in v12. This project never lived other than v12.
