Default Log in Time out issues

No matter how i set my log in time out option.
it tends to time out by itself in typical less than 10 minutes.

i hate to redo everything, have published the security files many times.
just wondering what is the best approach to troubleshoot.

Is it the log in component that I need to delete & re create ?

    appreciate input, thanks

Ken check your was setup you should make sure that the settings are correct.
Also Is it possible that you are loosing internet connection on the user side.
goto www.whatismyip.com and check your external address before you sign in and after it logs you out if they are different that will be the reason.

yes, the ip is correct, deleting index.a5w and a new login in component makes no difference
i have just rebooting the server to see if this fix it.

Have also set so that it expire when user closes the browser, to me that is consider ultimate

    Ken,

Check the WAS - Sessions/Session lifetime. The default is 3600 seconds (15 minutes). Change it to whatever higher number you want.

In Security change the login expiration policy to Expires when current session expires and set WAS Sessions to a higher number and under the Advanced tab change the Browser Tracking Cookie Lifetime to a high number as well. Hopefully this helps.

thank you and all solutions applicable,
a good reboot of the server is not a bad idea after applying all these changes
