Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Fonts Problem

Report design: I change font size using properties---> fonts. I save my changes. But my changed fonts are reflected neither in preview nor in the printed report itself. Returning to properties ---> fonts, my new sizes remain in their newly changed form. I am overlooking something elementary, but I can't find it.

can you send a couple of screen shots of the report in design, noting the fields you want to change the font of. Also a screen shot of the properties box on the font page might help

      Re: Fonts Problem

It should be a case of right click on the FIELD you want the Font changed, Properties, change it and you should see the result in the box below. Save.
If the data is in a Rich Text Field, it's slightly different to set the Font size.
Have you done a Database Compact recently? Might help if you have been hacking away at a form.
Suggest you try a one field Report and test your Font on that one Field.

          Re: Fonts Problem

Looking at that there should not be a problem which may point to a report corruption of some sort. Can you open another report with the same fields. Do the change and see if it has the same problem. The only reason I can think for the font changing is that it does not exist on the pc you open it in and it would revert to the default. This should not be the case with arial and the fact you are doing it on the same pc.

Can you post a copy of the Table with the form?

              Re: Fonts Problem

Mark, your ideas, unfortunately, do not solve the problem. I do have another report that uses the same fields, with exactly the same problem. Testing your suggestion that my computer lacks the fonts requested, I tried using Courier CE and Century fonts, with the same results.

Ted, I unfortunately cannot post the Table because the data contains information that I am required to keep confidential :-(

                Re: Fonts Problem

Not sure if this is the problem but it might be in your version (not in mine): Expand your Details section to accommodate the increased height resulting from increasing the font's size. Grab the bottom line of the detail section and drag down a little.

So lets do it the hard way.
Analyse the attached and you will see what you are missing out on.
Please note the positions of the data placeholder handles. This is you problem I suspect.
