Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Cool. Critique: the building/city scape takes too long, meaning is lost. Definitely change the music, something more light but "techo". I get my music from http://www.neosounds.com/.

I don't know, the city scape is cool, I like it, but I agree w. Steve that the music is out of sync w. the imagery. You need something more modern. But, as long as you're asking, I could never reconcile the Alpha cube w. the Alpha Greek symbol that Alpha has been using forever. Seems like some kind of identity crisis? Hint: the Greek "Alpha" is sooooo pass.

Ok it is good to change the music.
BUT ........ you don't show the web site long enough at the end.
Super idea, a little longer on the building of the cubes so that we 'oldies' have time to read it, but otherwise great idea.

                Regards

I like it nice flow techy enough but the panels are gimmicky at very least update the text colors.

Maybe 30 seconds is right length for this video. Now it is absolutely too long.

I liked it too but the features could only be read when recongnizable. If I weren't an Alpha user, I would have no clue what they meant as they don't display long enough to view. The music was good.

Pretty nice. I like the cityscape, too. Here are my critiques/suggestions.
                            1. The very first Alpha Five version 11 should not be all one line and not all same font. Break it into 2 fonts separating A5 from v11
                            2. The billboards are too hard to read. Zoom in more. The billboard-to-background ratio is too low. Needs to be above 80% filling the screen.
                            3. The transition from cityscape to blocks is too abrupt. I would zoom/plung into into a city building window to the cubes on a table. If you have access to it, watch the video for The Blue Man Group - The Complex Rock Tour Live (2003) - The Complex. This has something similar.
                            4. The message on the cubes is interrupted too much by the cube boundries. After the cube towers are built, I would fuse the message to be seamless and readable. The fusion into solidarity is also a subliminal message.

That's all I have with my quick inspection.

Regarding the sliding panels, I still think you should put the Alpha Five name, or at least the logo, on every one to help build the brand identity. That would greatly expand their usefulness, especially for those not already in the choir! Look at any one by itself and you would be hard pressed to know who it is for.
