Default connection Error trying to connect to oracle via connection type oracle

I've been banging my head up against a wall, I set up the connection using Oracle
test the connection, get a "Test Succeeded" message, can view the tables, add
the fields to a grid, but when I go to do a live preview I get this....

    oracle_error.jpg

I can get it to work on a local machine using an ODBC connection, but once I try to
publish that to a web-server I get a "local host/server not found " when I try to load
the grid. I triple check the connection string on that and yes the ODBC connection
    is defined on the web-server.

    The version of Oracle is
    oracle_config.jpg

and this is how the connection string is set up

Symptoms indicate that when operating as 'you' (your login) from Alpha development on your PC, you have access. But when it tries to run in a separate process context of the server, it is not seeing the same environment. Make sure things like oracle_home are in the context of the application server.

I thought I had posted something on how I got around it, but I can't find it!!

I think that was the problem with having the Alpha install folders in the Program Files (x86) parent instead of just Program Files on Windows 64. Anyway, that was the fix to one problem--just moving those three files seems to clear up problems if you are running on 64 bit Windows. However, I don't remember if you can just uninstall, delete, and then reinstall. Seems like I had to move files and then hack all the registry entries to change the folder path names.

Sorry I'm not exactly sure of the solution, but hope this helps.

The Alpha installed folders all begin with a5v10 under c:\Program Files (x86)\ need to be in c:\Program Files\
