Checkbox onClick ajaxCallback refering to itself in dialog

On a dialog, I have a checkbox with an ajaxCallback in the onClick javascript event, that refers to the value of the checkbox itself.

Like:

if (convert_type(e.dataSubmitted.MyCheckbox,"L")) then
... code...
else
... code...
end if

The problem is the value of "MyCheckbox" is always false regardless if the checkbox is checked or unchecked.

I've tried other events and nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Sorry, I spoke too quick. It's working now...

But, I'm having problems with the rest of my code.
Anybody use e.rtc.myvalue in a dialog?
I have code in the onDialogInitialize that sets 3 e.rtc values that I want to retrieve from an ajaxCallback. But in the ajaxCallback, e.rtc.myvalue returns blank.

In fact, if I debug, there is no "myvalue" in e.rtc in the ajaxCallback.
Any ideas?

You're going to have to post your dialog or some code on this one. It's too hard working in the dark to try and figure out what's happening. At least with a dialog it's sometimes easier to post than a grid. Zip it up so we can have a look.

I can zip it, but check this out. It works in one event, but not in the other.

put this in the on onDialogInitialize event:

e.rtc._mytest = "test"

and then put this in an ajaxCallback called from a button or something:

function getValues as c (e as p)

getValues = "alert('test value: " + js_escape(e.rtc._mytest) + "');"

end function

This fails for me, but if I put the first code in the onDialogExecute instead, it works!

So, is it a bug? I should be able to set e.rtc values from the onDialogInitialize according to the 'help' in the event:

'Inside e:
'e.tmpl = Component definition
'e.rv = Request variables
'session = Session variables
'e.rtc = Runtime calculations - you can use this to store data to be passed to other server side events
'e.arguments = SQL::Arguments object with values for each of the arguments defined in this component. To read a value from arguments: e.arguments.find("argumentName").data

Let me know if you still need the dialog.

Yes... I get exactly the same results. Seems like it should work from Initialize, according to the notes, but doesn't. Report it and see.
