    Default .ADX File Type

I see I have .ADX files in my database and I can't find a reference to them in any literature - what are they and are they still used in A5V10.x? Can I delete them?

Not heard of .Adx extension but the "dx" part makes me think its an index file. While the "a" makes me think its an index for the ADB file.

For deleting the file, check the date modified. If it is recent then I would leave the file alone. A simple test is to rename the file, I prefer to add a new extension ".old" to the current file name. For example if the file is called DBname.adx I will rename it to DBname.adx.old. Then open the database and test if everything still works. If the database has errors change the file name back to the original. If no errors delete the file. You may find that the database recognized the file is missing and recreated it.

    Hope that helps.

I just realized that they are Lotus Approach index files. Apparently someone opened some DBF's at on time with Approach and it created the files.
