How to submit linked child grid upon parent submit?

In a classic Orders (parent) and Product Items (child) scenario, i have a grid that shows the orders in a parent grid and the line items in a linked child grid.
Editing/adding Orders is done through Detail View.
I would like not to show any "submit" in the linked child grid, but i just would like the detail view submit to save the order as well as all line items.
How do i do that?

Set the style of the button to display: none as indicated in the help smb.png

it sounds to me that this would be a perfect candidate for a dialog component with a repeating section.
with a dialog, the commit of the parent and child can be handled as a single transaction. there are several videos that show how this is easily done.

if you want to use grids and submit the child at the same time as you submit the parent, you will need to write some javascript in the onGridRender event in the child grid to publish the ID of the child grid to a global javascript variable.

e.g.

window['__childgrid'] = '{dialog.componentname}';

then in the submit event of the parent grid you can refer to this global js variable and generate the code to also submit the child grid.

Yup Selwyn, that's exactly what i need in my scenario, trying to mimic the needed dialog using grid with detail view was too much for a noob like me :-)
I will go through the new video you guys posted about using a dialog as the detail view of a grid, since it's exactly what i am trying to achieve here. Hope to have better luck with the dialog this time :-)
