    Default Browse Sort

    Hi,

    Problem:
    (1) After found the records by Query Genie, the records are shown without sort on the browse.
    or
    (2) Even using queryrun() with sort,

Whenever I want to re-sort by other fields, the browse is shown all of records.
I could not hold the Query result records.

Is there any other way to hold the result records until my job done?

Depends on how you're letting your users "do the sort".

If you arrange for them to do this by button push, instead of using the typical toolbar or menu options, then your button could run a new query which both filters and sorts...

Try browse.viewqueried() it will set the filter and order with the option to make it the base filter. Or after the browse is opened you can use browse.basequeryrun()

Hi John - to run the filter on the form? No I haven't tried that. But I suppose if the parameters for the query are set in another object like a radio or checkbox or combo box, then the script in the column title could use that. hmmm

It works when I used on Borwse's Event.
    FUNCTION NAME_TitleClick AS V ( )
'DESCRIPTION: If the browse click behavior is set to call a user defined event,
'this method is called when the title row of the browse is clicked.
    dim shared vShowBy as c
    dim tbl as p
    tbl =browse1.table_get()
    'order with current filter
    tbl.order("Name","job_status="+quote(vShowBy))

    END FUNCTION
BUT the <tbl>.Order is only order by Ascending.

I want to sort "ascending or Descending" by a click on column. How to do this?
