Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Refresh your PhoneGap Build App screen. If your iOS App built successfully, it will work.

Sometimes the Android app will build but the iOS app isn't finished yet.

Have you performed all of the iOS provisioning steps in chapter 4 of the Alpha PhoneGap documentation? Does the iOS app fail to launch after you scan the code and install the app on your iOS device?

Yes it does... absolutely. Just tried both.

You'll have to be more specific about what is not working in your case.

All apple requirements completed, rebuild in phonegap also all success. The QR code generated by Alpha Builder does not work so I go to phonegap website and test the QR code for my app and it works. So I thought it might be a but in alpha generated QRCode. But if your work then t might be something wrong with my Phonrgap setting.

              Hey Phan,

You're going to have to be really specific. Your Alpha QR code does not work how? It will not scan? It scans but doesn't install? It installs but doesn't run?

What build of Alpha are you using?

                Hi Davidk

I am using the latest Alpha Anywhere V2 Version 12.3 Build 2091.

Error message as follows in my iphone

Your search - itms-services://?action=download-manifest&url=https://s3.amazonaws.com/AA_plist...-did not match any documents

I go to phone gap web site and scan the QRCode but it works and changes i made in the program also reflect those changes.

Re: PhoneGap Builder QRCode for IOS is not working

                  Hey Phan,

                  Is that the entire message?

When you scan the QRCode you're scanner will return something like the image below... right? The end of my screenshot is cut off... but after the #... the end reads /app.plist

So... my scanned content... in full... reads...

                  itms-services://?action=download-manifest&url=https://s3.amazonaws.com/AA_plist/833708/app.plist

I tap on this link and it grabs the qrcode from an amazon cloud server where Alpha has stored it.

This is different than what is going on with the PhoneGap Build site. Unfortunately, Bob Moore, who wrote all this great stuff, cannot get direct access to the PhoneGap Build QRCode. So he has to generate the QRCode and store it up on amazon.

In the info you posted you're not showing anything after AA_plist. Is there anything showing after AA_plist?

Can you take a screenshot of your Alpha generated QRCode and post it here. I'll scan it and see what happens.

Re: PhoneGap Builder QRCode for IOS is not working

                      Phan,

I get exactly the same message on my iPad for both the Alpha generated QRCode and the PhoneGap Build QRCode...

Alpha: I scan, the QRCode gets read and the install link is displayed in the scanner, I tap to install, the install starts... and at about 75% I get the message: Unable to Download App. "A5Project" could not be installed at this time. Done. Retry.

PhoneGap Build: iOS asks if I want to install, I tap install, and then exactly the same process as the Alpha QRCode.

I believe it's not installing because of the provisioning file... because my device is not in your provisioning file.

But... I'm not getting the error you posted in post # 8.

Which iOS QRCode scanner app are you using?

Sorry... there's a few QRReader apps (not QRReder... right?). Who's the developer. I just want to try the exact same one you're using.

Ok... it's your QR Code reader... it's doing something funky. I get the same results as you... in a google page (you didn't mention that part).
