Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    this is a good question, Hopfully it is just to limit who can Alpha/Beta test it. or....

      That's what I was told by an Alpha employee yesterday. When the control is released it will not require a separate key and is part of your subscription. The feature key is strictly for beta testing.

        Hi All - please find below some observations and questions for the AA team and the prompt response, please send you questions and suggestions to help this get launched.

        2020-07-23_11-40-22.png

        1) the start date is specified at the layout level as a property named "date" - you can set it thusly:

        calendar.png

        you need to use the "{javascript}..." because the JSON parser is used and therefore dates are not allowed. The weird default (Jan 2019) was an artifact of the development process and data - I have removed that and the next release should default to the current date.

        The navigator starts with the date of the current view in the main calendar visible.

        2) events arguments for click and all others (except drag) are "target", "dateTime" and "item" - target is the part of the calendar the event happened on - so the navigator would have a target of "navigator-date" and the main calendar would be just "date". The dateTime argument is the date/time you clicked on, and the item argument is the list row data (if any) that was clicked.

        3) the calendar supports both start-duration and start-end - so you don't need to calculate the duration, you would just replace the "duration" property with an "end" property formatted in the same way are the "start" - the name of the property in the list data, a ":", followed by the format the date is in - for instance:
        "end": "eventEnd:MM/dd/yyyy 0h:0m am",

        4) you can turn off drag by setting "settings.items.allowEdit" to false - this will remove item drag. Custom drag can be turned off by settings "settings.items.allowCustom" to false

        Hope this helps.

        Pete

          I can confirm the date is now current to the use date.

          {
          "date": "{javascript} new Date()",
          "settings": {
          "type": "month",
          "input": {
          "map": {
          "start": "start:MM/dd/yyyy 0h:0m am",
          "duration": {
          "hours": "duration"
          },
          "group": {
          "by": "eventgroup"
          },
          "stack": {
          "create": true,
          "on": "date"
          }
          }
          }
          }

                Don't change the list start or end date date format to anything other than none - otherwise you will get Klingon dates back. _ i'll report it. so just leave dates vanilla.

                    Checked the Pre-Release notes today. Lots of impressive stuff being added. Really like the new way to filter lists using the Column control. Headed in a great direction.

                          I have the calendar style set to Alpha-Dark-Green but it isn't displaying the style in the browser. It does display Alpha-Dark-Green in Working Preview (not Live Preview).

                          Are you guys seeing this or is this something to report? I do not have use master style checked when I call the UX.

                              I've resolved my issue of the style rendering okay in Working Preview but not in Live Preview .. I had neglected to select Full Preview (which I needed to do because Alpha-Dark-Green is a new style) and was using Fast Preview instead.

                              Full Preview.jpg

                              Calendar-WorkingPreview.jpg

                              I still have not been able to get it to render correctly in the browser however. I've deleted the Alpha-Dark-Green style from the published folder (C:\A5Projects\Engineering.WebProjects\Default.WebProject\css) and confirmed the style is published. But this is still what I get ...

                              Pete, I like how you have a dropdown list to select and change the style. How do you do that?

                                Never mind, I see that's also a new feature in the pre-release.
