How do I set a Grid Filter

Hi All,

I have a grid where the following is set as a system event.

{grid.object}.setValue('S','resultset_session_id','5');
{grid.object}.setValue('S','academic_yr','12');
{grid.object}.submitSearchForm();

The problem is that all of the data is getting pulled across the wire and the grid is then filtered on the above. As the data grows load up time gets progressively slower.

Is there a way that I can set a filter to pull across just the data that is initially required but then be able to search for whatever is needed after that.

Can't you just define an initial filter then ? Also make sure the property to base the grid only on selected columns is checked.

In the serverside ongridexecute method i use.

'GK20130403 override to take care that non-employees only see centres they are owner of.

if session.__protected__EID = "" then
dim sql_filter as C
sql_filter = "relaties_nummer_verh = " + session.__protected__RID
e.tmpl.baseFilterSetMode = "Add"
e.tmpl.base_filter = sql_filter
end if

Formerly one could also use BasefilterSet in override settings, but that is broken!

It sort of works.

It shows the initial data that I want but I then cannot search for the other data - just comes up with no records. There are records there.

I do not recollect the exact syntax but replace in my example

e.tmpl.baseFilterSetMode = "Add"
e.tmpl.base_filter = sql_filter

with e.tmpl.filter_initial = sql_filter
