Im sure there is a very simple answer here to this, but I cant figure it out.
Please keep in mind, I am new to AA and have very little background working with databases and javascript...
Im working in an absolute layout container and trying to calculate some numbers automatically.
The math is working, I just need some help with client side formatting the final results.
Ive tried checking the client side formatting checkbox and configuring the format definition but that doesn't seem to work for me.
In the simple example above I have a 'sum_installation' field, a 'sum_tax' field and a 'sum_total' field.
tax field has calculated expression of alltrim(str(sum_installation * .06,250,2,",")) and always returns nice clean results with 2 decimal places.
You can see what happens for long numbers with many decimal places on example 3.
Currently all I have for the total is (sum_installation + sum_tax) with no formatting rules like the tax...
Ive tried a similar calculation for the addition of the installation and tax for the total but it does not work. From what ive read I think I need to use variables but im not sure.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
oh also, what does the 250 stand for in "alltrim(str(sum_installation * .06,250,2,","))"? 250 max characters? I just copied it from somewhere else and im not really sure.
