Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Date / Time Picker -- Disable the TODAY button.

    Is there a way to hide or disable the TODAY button on the date / time picker? I have a high/low function so that dates can only be picked between those two dates. However, all they need to do is press TODAY to by-pass my functions.

    Re: Date / Time Picker -- Disable the TODAY button.

    I'd try to verify the date selected instead of hiding elements... however... hiding Today if Today should not be available is kinda nice too.

    When Alpha pops up anything, the element id is partially variable... the popup window number... "A5dlg0". This has a starting number of 0 for the first popup, and increments by 1 for every popup displayed.

    Given your app, you never really know what your popup id will be.

    If you've got just one popup this will work.

    The DateTimePicker has a property... Has Events... which has an On Item Draw event. In there put datePickerHideToday.
    In your Javascript functions add this...

    Code:
    function datePickerHideToday(){

    	var datePicker = $('A5dlg0.BODY.D.DATEPICKER.TODAYBUTTON');
    	if (datePicker != null){
    		datePicker.style.display="none";
    	}

    }
    If you have multiple popup windows to deal with (or could have) then you could set up a loop and loop through x number of A5dlg popups until you hit the one you want.

    There is also the onSelect property. This gets the date selected and you could test against today and then do something.

      how about you just remove date picker today button text, leave it blank?

        Thank you! I couldn't find that. I was looking under Date/Time Picker properties instead of Properties/Other.

              Hey Sarah,

              I don't think this is anything to report. There are a billion features... mix and match to get what you need... and make sure you have you look after what you don't.

              A bit of error checking will stop "Today" from being used... and as Ghandi shows... remove it if you don't want it.

                The today button is still there and could still be clicked, if only by accident when trying to navigate to the next month.

                You could try this instead. I made a function for the "onItemDraw" event for the date picker. Left "Today" alone. It removes the button, or, rather, hides it so you can't click on it:
                Code:
                var onItemDraw = function () {
                    if (typeof ({grid.object}._fieldHelpers_G.LOG_DATE._dateTime) === 'undefined') return;
                    if (typeof ({grid.object}._fieldHelpers_G.LOG_DATE._dateTime.contId) === 'undefined') return;

                    var ele = $({grid.object}._fieldHelpers_G.LOG_DATE._dateTime.contId+".D.DATEPICKER.TODAYBUTTON");
                    if (ele) {
                        ele.style.display = 'none';
                    }
                };
                The beauty of this is that it only removes the Today button in the date picker for your specific field. So, if you have other date pickers on the same component, they can have Today buttons.
