Can I dynamically change what a list returns?

I can successfully modify a list and change the data and the header columns.
Is it possible to dynamically change what the list returns?

Right now, the list is returning a vendor name, but I want to dynamically change the list to display the customer name, and have the customer be the value what the list returns when a row is selected.

I want to do this in order to use other list features / functions that require the return value.

Thinkin about the question is it the returned list or the argument value getting its value you need?

I use functions like this to use a list to replicate the old textbox lookup / fill-in other fields. I think it will do what you need. There is probably an easier way to get the "index" value, actually, but this works.
