How to display a single value from xbasic function that calls an api

Hello, Alpha community. Thank you all for your suggestions, help, and assistance my fintech app is well on its way because of you. A shout out to Gregg (Madtowng) who has gone above and beyond. Thank you all very much. I hope you all have a great holiday season. I will continue to work on the app through the holiday break and I could use some guidance on my latest hurdle. Think banking app, mock-up pic attached. I am using two list controls to show each days pending and posted transactions, the suggestions here have helped me get over my hurdles with those. Every new pending or posted transaction returns the available or current balance respectively in the response. I just want to display the available and current balance of the last transaction, not the entire contents of the transaction like I do with the list controls. pic.PNG The two list controls sit on my homepage and work great but I can figure out how to display only available and current balance. I can get the results from Xbasic that isn't the issue but if I call the result balance how do I display it in my home panel? any suggestions or guidance is appreciated? I am using the Alpha Anywhere Comunity Edition for now.

Data Control > Custom Control > Control properties > Method for defining control: Xbasic. Your XBasic function just needs to return the value. You can use the Field Properties to set size and font and placement on the page, etc.

thank you christappan, would the custome control variable name = my xbasic function name or do I add something to the default value of the custom control to display the result?

Can you attach an image of the list & an image of the UX?
Are you using a detail view for the lists?

Sorry that custom control XBasic function was more involved than I remembered. For a more direct method, use a static text control or Freeform Layout control. Then just write the HTML and XBasic you want. Something like:

Or, instead what you probably want to do is to put the same XBasic code in an XBasic function, then do an ajaxCallback when you want to display it. The HTML can be one of a variety of HTML elements on the page, like a span or div or table cell in a Freeform Layout or a Static text control.

The XBasic function can just go in your XBasic functions:

Then the Javascript to call it:

Then you can put

in the Client-side onRenderComplete functions, but you could also use it with other user activities when you want the balance to be refreshed.
